Review: TV & FILM 2015—OUR TOP 10
So far, 2015 has been a great year for the movies and TV. Our top picks:
1. The Flash (TV)
A young boy wakes up nine months after being struck by lightning to find he has superpowers. Determined to make a difference, he dedicates his life to fighting crime.
2. Empire (TV)
Lucious Lion, king of pop and CEO of Empire Entertainment, discovers he has a disease that could incapacitate him in less than three years. Now, he must groom one of his three sons to succeed him.
3. Furious 7 (Film)
Ian Shaw is out for revenge against Dominic Toretto and his crew, following the death of his brother in the previous installment of this roaring action series.
4. Before 30 (TV)
A Nigerian series that highlights the struggles of some Nigerian women to get married before the age of thirty.
5. Game of Thrones (TV)
Nine noble families fight for control of the throne of the mythical land of Westeros.
6. Avengers: Age of Ultron (Film)
The Avengers reassemble as the existence of the Earth is threatened. The team is put to test as they battle Ultron, a foe bent on human extinction.
7. Orange Is The New Black (TV)
Set in a women’s prison, this comedy drama tells the story of the young and engaged Piper Chapman, serving her time after being convicted of a crime.
8. Jurassic World (Film)
Scientists at Jurassic World, a fully-functioning prehistoric theme park, create a hybrid dinosaur to re-spark visitors’ interest in the park. But things don’t go as planned.
9. Mad Men (TV)
The lives, loves, and work of the men and women of a Madison Avenue advertising agency, starting in the early 1960s, are mapped out by this intriguing drama as it shines a not-too-flattering light on the social, gender, and economic issues of that age.
10. Dowry (TV)
Two families at loggerheads are forced to call a truce when their children decide to get married. The groom, however, disappears five hours to the wedding.
